One thing that we love about turkey roast is that you don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving for a turkey dinner. Growing up, my parents would make a Thanksgiving-style turkey dinner every few months! Granted, on a much smaller scale. 😉
We picked up a few of these small 3lb turkey breast roasts last Thanksgiving and have been following the same tradition I had growing up! Our favorite way to prepare the turkey roasts is on the smoker. There’s something so delicious and so easy about cooking them low and slow. We’ve been working on keeping the turkey roasts nice and moist on the inside (the first one we smoked got pretty dried out), and we have found that wrapping them in bacon and basting with Apple Cider Vinegar locks in all of the juiciness!Â
Another huge pro of this recipe is the minimal ingredient list: turkey (duh!), bacon, and Cajun seasoning. This is one of those low key recipes you can do on a lazy Sunday that won’t compromise on flavor!
Pro Tip: Make a little tray out of foil and place under the turkey roast to capture the drippings. Add those drippings to gravy!
Let us know what you think – cheers!
