We’ve been learning more about mezcal lately, and a happy hour trip to a local bar really sparked the inspiration. They made craft cocktails using mezcal, some based off of more traditional recipes (margarita, tequila sunrise), and some very original. This inspired us to pick up some mezcal to work out an original cocktail with. The idea was to come up with a summertime easy sipper, and I think we nailed it!
This cocktail has a delightful flavor profile, with lots of big flavors but lots of subtle flavors too. Sophistcated, citrus-forward, and smokey throughout. You’ll get hints of honey, and a slightly tart finish. We really hope you enjoy it!

Dos Verbos Cocktail
This cocktail is smoky, citrus, sophistication in a glass.
Equipment
- 1 cocktail shaker and strainer
- 1 chilled cocktail glass
Ingredients
- 1 oz Mezcal
- 1 oz Light Rum
- .5 oz Lime juice
- .5 oz Simple syrup
- 1 barspoon Benedictine
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 dash Orange bitters
- 1 wedge lime for garnish
Instructions
- Combine ingredients in cocktail shaker.1 oz Mezcal, 1 oz Light Rum, .5 oz Lime juice, .5 oz Simple syrup, 1 barspoon Benedictine, 1 dash Angostura bitters, 1 dash Orange bitters
- Shake and strain into chilled cocktail glass and serve1 wedge lime
