We love to peruse Mr. Boston’s Bartender’s Guide when we want a little cocktail inspiration. And sometimes, we find some that are so good we just have to recreate them! This one is no exception. Plus, we love a cocktail with a story. Enter: Emperor Norton’s Mistress. From what we’ve learned, Emperor Norton is the only known emperor in the United States. Well, self-appointed in the 1860’s. 😉 What we don’t know is whether a woman or this cocktail was his mistress! From what we can find, this cocktail was created at the Elixir Saloon in San Francisco.
This drink is absolutely to die for! The strawberry and vanilla complement the whiskey just beautifully, with a bright freshness from the Grand Marnier. Muddle the strawberries, pour in the others, shake, and enjoy! One of our new favorites – let us know what you think.
